How We are Handling COVID-19

Border Counseling Services LLC value each of our clients and their mental and physical health. In order to continue to provide mental health services and protect our clients and families from exposure to COVID 19 we have the following guidelines for appointments in our office. 

What we will do:

  • Door to waiting room will remain closed
  • Staggering appointments to minimize contact with other clients
  • Sanitizing surfaces between each client Frequent use of hand sanitizer
  • Require each client and family member to complete a COVID 19 form
  • If you are experiencing the following symptoms, we ask that you schedule a teletherapy appointment: fever, cough, difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
  • If you are in a high-risk category of exposure (e.g. work in a hospital, work with the homeless, or other area with high interaction with the public.) We ask that you schedule teletherapy appointments until risk factors change.

What we ask you to do:

  • No more than two people in our waiting room. If there are already two people, please wait outside our office or in your vehicle and text your provider that you are here (Elaine: 907-230-3022).
  • If your child is here for an appointment, we kindly ask that you wait in your vehicle on the premises during their appointment time.
  • It is highly recommended that you wear a mask to prevent the spread and lower the exposure to the virus.
  • Maintain 6 feet distance between you and others
  • Refrain from touching your face
  • Thorough proper hand washing or use hand sanitizer when this is not possible.
